Aid and Attendance is not a standalone benefit. It is a higher monthly rate added on top of an approved VA pension, so you must qualify for the underlying pension first.
The net worth limit is $163,699 for the period December 1, 2025 through November 30, 2026. Net worth means assets plus annual income, and your primary residence is excluded. The figure changes every December 1.
There is a 3 year lookback on assets given away or sold below value. If a transfer would have put you over the net worth limit, VA can impose a penalty of up to 5 years of ineligibility. The lookback never reaches back before October 18, 2018.
Aid and Attendance and Housebound are mutually exclusive. Aid and Attendance pays more and is for someone who needs another person's help with daily activities, is bedridden, is in a nursing home, or has severe vision loss.
The veteran must have served at least one day during a wartime period and have a discharge that was not dishonorable. Someone who entered active duty before September 8, 1980 needs 90 days of active duty with at least one wartime day. Later entrants generally need 24 months.
Unreimbursed medical and care costs reduce countable income. Home care, assisted living, and nursing home costs all count, which is how many applicants who look too wealthy come in under the limit.
Filing is free through a county or state veterans service officer. Be wary of paid advisers who charge fees or steer assets into financial products to help you qualify. VA prohibits charging a fee merely to help file an initial claim.

VA Survivors Pension
如果遗属在日常活动上需要帮助或无法出门,可能还能加上 Aid and Attendance(生活照护津贴)或 Housebound(居家不便津贴)补助。

Elderly Simplified Application Project (ESAP)

Basic Food (SNAP / Food Assistance Program)

Washington Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC)
US$50 至 US$1,330/年Working Families Tax Credit 是一项由 Department of Revenue(华盛顿州税务局)管理的州税抵免。
