Assisted Living Facility Contracted Services

WA DSHS ALTSA Home and Community Services

Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) in Washington are licensed for seven or more residents and provide room and board plus help with activities of daily living. Some ALFs additionally hold a state contract to provide specific service packages for Medicaid-funded residents: Assisted Living (AL), Adult Residential Care (ARC), Enhanced Adult Residential Care (EARC), Expanded Community Services (ECS), Community Support Services (CSS), and Specialized Dementia Care. Contracts are administered by DSHS ALTSA Home and Community Services. Some ALFs specialize in serving people with mental health problems, developmental disabilities, or dementia.
