Assisted Living Facility Contracted Services

WA DSHS Home and Community Living Administration (HCLA)

Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) in Washington are licensed for seven or more residents and provide room and board plus help with activities of daily living. Some ALFs additionally hold a state contract to provide specific service packages for Medicaid-funded residents: Assisted Living (AL), Adult Residential Care (ARC), Enhanced Adult Residential Care (EARC), Expanded Community Services (ECS), Community Stability Supports (CSS), and Specialized Dementia Care. Contracts are administered by DSHS Home and Community Living Administration (HCLA). Some ALFs specialize in serving people with mental health problems, developmental disabilities, or dementia.

Licensed Assisted Living Facilities seeking a state Medicaid contract; Medicaid-eligible clients seeking placement at a contracted facility.

What it covers

State payment for AL, ARC, EARC, ECS, CSS, or Specialized Dementia Care service packages delivered to Medicaid clients in licensed ALFs.

How to apply

Apply for state-funded care at a Home & Community Services Office. Facilities seeking to contract should contact DSHS RCS.
