Assisted Living Facilities
WA DSHS HCLA Residential Care Services
Assisted living facilities are community settings where staff take responsibility for the safety and well-being of the resident. They provide housing, meals, laundry, supervision, and different levels of help with care. Some provide nursing care. Some offer specialized care for people with mental health issues, developmental disabilities, or dementia. Each facility has seven or more residents and is licensed by Washington State. Facilities that serve Medicaid clients contract with the state to provide four service package levels: Adult Residential Care, Enhanced Adult Residential Care, Enhanced Adult Residential Care for Specialized Dementia Care Services, and Assisted Living.
